Il farmacologo David Colquhoun spiega con esempi concreti l’inconsistenza e l’assurdità che derivano dall’uso meccanico degli indici bibliometrici. “Erwin Neher and Bert Sakmann … got the Nobel Prize .. in 1991. In the 10 years from 1976 to 1985, Sakmann published an average of 2.6 papers per year (range 0 to 6). In 6 of these 10 years he failed to meet the publication target set by Imperial [College], and these failures included the years in which the original single channel paper was published”.
